Re: The Master
Agreed with all of that as well in fairness. Poulter in particular came across as massive bellend on the netflix doc. That said, the sound of rory prattling on about the European tour and the ryder cup - lecturing the likes of Sergio, poulter and Westwood who've given more to the tour and the European team than anyone - is equally irritating. Seems to forget his comments on the ryder cup and that he dashed off to the US for more money (and because he couldn't win in Europe because he is fucking shit in the wind).

I must admit that I don't really give a shit about the saudis. It's their money, can do with it what they like. And they'll probably own us one day soon so always best not to get on too much of a high horse about these things!

Re: The Masters
Might have a few quid each way on tommy Fleetwood just because I like him don't think he could win it but Might sneak a place.
As for the liv golfers yeah I get people wanting to earn more money if its dangled in front of them , but for most it's just more millions on top of millions isn't it?
Hardly going to change their lifestyle is it

Re: The Master
stewie thanks for going through that and I now see where you're coming from. You'll get no argument from me, although where I sympathise with the PGA is that the Saudi angle is one of control, they're looking to influence many sports with bags full of cash and they have a bottomless pit and in the PGA's case if they succeed with golf the PGA along with the R&A may have to take a supporting role in the governace & custodians of the game. I'd be uncomfortable with that.

I do have an issue with some of the LIV golfers wanting their cake & eating it, it seems the self appointed spokesmen are the expired golfers Mickelson Poulter, Stenson & Westwood along with Reed. Silence is golden lads and show more dignity like Dustin who admits that it was all about the money and if he is unable to play the Majors then he understands & accepts the decision, fair play to him. You went for the money, no issue there, but it had consequences, accept them and pipe down,

Personally I'd love to see Tiger end his career on a high, if not I'd like to se Rory achieve the set, unfortunately I don't think either will happen.

Re: The Master
stewie 7.23 I'm curious, why's that?

Where to start, Bank son? In short, the pga tour are massive cunts. Always have been, always will be. Consider this - 12th May 2022, Lionel Messi becomes an ambassador for Saudi Arabia. Nothing. LIV golf starts - mostly a bunch of people near the end of their career - and you have months of news headlines about SPORTSWASHING and other such bollocks.
Pretty ludicrous, isn't it - that arguably the greatest player in the most popular sport in the world signs up with the Saudis to no noise, and a bunch of mostly second rate players from the 10th most popular sport in the world sign up with the Saudis and there's a shitload of it. Although not all that ludicrous if you understand the old boys club that is the pga tour.

Then you have the situation itself. As DJ said, someone offered my more money, for less work, enabling me to spend more time with my family. Why should or would anyone have a problem with that? Unless of course they stand to lose something, or fear losing it. Its perfectly reasonable.

Then you have the sponsors of the PGA & LPGA...Aramco are the biggest sponsors of women's golf in the world. The game pretty much wouldn;t exist without them. Not hard to find out what Aramco is. All of the pga tour's biggest sponsors do billions of dollars of business with the Saudis every year. Doesn't seem to be an issue.

Then you have the STRATEGIC ALLIANCE with the european tour. Do me a favour. They've been taking the best players from the European tour for years.....they go to the pga tour for more money....like the LIV people did. No issue.

Then you have their laughable hypocrisy. LIV golf sets up, there's a bunch of noise about how no-cut events are against the spirit of golf etc. The pga tour has announced a whole slew of no-cut events next year, only involving the very best players, which enables them to protect their world ranking. Excellent strategic alliance, that.

Last but not least, if there was any doubt about what these people are about - you had this at the matchplay last week

Pathetic cunts.

stewie 7.23 I'm curious, why's that?

If you look beyond Scheffler, Rory and Rahm then I would look at Cantlay, also stuck an each way on Sam Burns before the Match Play at 40's

I would absolutely LOVE IT if one of the LIV lot won it.

Sadly won't happen.

Can a mod please stick an 'S' on the end?

Going to The Masters has always been on my bucket list, realistically it will never happen though.

Bit odd with the BBC turning down free highlights?

Is it an impossible process to go to? It wouldn't shock me looks the best of the lot whenever I watch it.
